One of many programs United Way of Stanislaus County supports in our community is Bank on Stanislaus. Bank on Stanislaus is a free program managed by United Way which provides workshops to teach individuals how to manage their finances, budget, cut debt, and balance a checkbook. Here are three testimonials from recent participants of Bank on Stanislaus. Participant #1 I really enjoyed the Bank On class. The information we got was valuable. We got information about the different types of checking and savings accounts that were available and what accounts were right for us. I would recommend this class to anyone just starting out that has never had a checking or savings account. This class is also good for anyone who wants a second chance at having a checking or savings account. Participant #2 I really enjoyed my experience in the Bank On class. I learned some very valuable tools that I can now use to manage my finances. I have had some really bad luck when it comes to banking and this program shows me that there is a way to get beyond that and start over fresh. I think that there are many others in the same situation I have been in but don't know about this awesome program. I believe that if this program was advertised it would expand and be a real helpful tool for the community. I am telling anyone and everyone I know who is or might be just starting to go through the headache of trying to open an account about the Bank On class. Participant #3 The class was very informative. I have learned more about keeping a checking account and balancing my account to help me in the future. The instructor was very nice and took time to make sure everyone was comfortable with their banking needs. I would recommend this class to anyone that needs a little help understanding their accounts.
