Listed below are suggested campaign ideas you can use for outreach, to encourage your non-profit's supporters to visit CommonKindness regularly and to gain new supporters. The more coupons they clip, the more money they save and the more you generate for your organization.
Email Campaigns: Create email campaigns to send out to your non-profit's existing support base and to friends and family. Use links to send supporters to CommonKindness to clip coupons in support of your non-profit. Email templates are available in the non-profit toolkit.
Newsletters: Add information about CommonKindness to newsletters that the non-profit already sends out or create a new one
Events: Attend events sponsored by your non-profit, hand out CommonKindness cards, and explain how supporters can continue to give through the website.
Contests: For example- - use CommonKindness to create a contest! Ask your supporters to send you their favorite story of how they helped make a difference in someone's life, their community, etc. (how they chose to give to that particular charity) Choose the best three to submit as your organization's Feature Story for the CommonKindness home page to generate awareness about your non-profit. Your supporters can even submit a photo to accompany their story, if they wish. The feature story provides your non-profit the opportunity to create an emotional bond with viewers, so these should be good! All stories submitted enter a queue to appear on the CommonKindness homepage with a link to your organization's profile page.
Social Media: Facebook /Twitter/YouTube/MySpace etc..Join your organization's Fan Page and start a thread on what you are doing for them and how. Follow your non-profit on Twitter and tweet some complimentary things from time to time. Help your non-profit set up social media accounts.
Engage Local Media: Let your local media know what you are doing. Submit an article to your school newsletter describing your activity.
Engage Family and Friends: Tell everyone you know about CommonKindness and the charity you are working to support. Remind them 15 minutes a week (13 hours a year) clipping coupons and searching out discounts could save them an average of $1,300-a return of $100 an hour for their time.
Website Banners: Suggest to your non-profit that they Link back to CommonKindness with a banner on (your non-profits) their website, to generate more revenue for them.
Feature Story Campaign - Work with your non-profit to add a feature story to the home page. This might make a good submission for a creative writing assignment if you actively participate.
Email Signatures: Use this text to spotlight CommonKindness when you send an email (text is in the Non-profit tool kit)
